3’s hand exercise (1e&, 2e&, etc..)

  • 120 bpm is goal, two measures per hand

  • This will strengthen thumb muscle so that your left hand is more secure in your hand for blast beats

Double bass exercise

  • 120 bpm

  • Quarter notes w/ right hand, snare on 2 and 4

  • Right foot plays two 8th notes on 1 and &, then left foot plays 2 on 1 and &, then 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

  • Right foot plays two 8th notes, then you add left foot to it so you get 4 16th notes. Then 3 8ths on right, then add left for total of 6 16ths, and so on until you’re playing straight 16th notes

  • Insanely solid bass hits and relaxed legs is what we’re going for

  • Speed up as necessary
